CatEye Strada Cadence Bicycle Computer CC-RD200 review

CatEye Strada Cadence Bicycle ComputerThe CatEye Strada Cadence Bicycle Computer CC-RD200 presents with promising features for the biker who wants accurate speed and distance readings. Although there is speculation about the safety of using lithium batteries, the lithium battery included with the product gives the customer a solid 2 years of life with easy replacement. This means they can ride longer without having to worry about their cell phone battery running dry while they’re running GPS, back-lighting and a speed/distance app.

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Durable Touch Screen Bike Computer

The CC-RD200 is also less fragile under the elements as opposed to smartphones. The specs basically give the biker the feeling that “the sky is the limit”, with very generous mileage and speed that would attract Olympic athletes to consider. The screen is a liquid crystal display that consumes less electrical power than other screens, and therefore emits less heat and lasts for a longer period of time without needing a replacement battery. On the other hand, the limited viewing angle causes variations in color, saturation, and contrast and brightness when the rider changes his riding posture.

Bikers may have an issue using the touch screen capability if they’re wearing gloves given that capacitive touch screens read the electrical impulse from our fingers, as our skin is conductive, whereas material in gloves are not. The biggest positive of the screen on the CC-RD200 is the larger symbols on display (check latest prices at amazon.com).

Simple Design, Easy-to-read Display

Small and light-weight, the CC-RD200 is simple in its design. The CC-RD200 shows only the most important numbers on display at all times for easy reference, allowing the biker the ability to concentrate more on the road and less on a screen. This is not only convenient, but it’s safer, as a biker is less likely to have accidents from trying to study a screen with small symbols and numbers. There were common complaints of the symbols of previous models of other brands being too small and hard to read.

The parts for the bike appear to be on the lower end of quality, for example only being tethered to the bike with plastic zip ties, albeit this making it very easy to use and assemble the CC-RD200. The instructions and manual are excellent, a far cry from the organizational mess like most manuals written for these devices. The pictures make sense, and the instructions are written in a logical order with visually pleasing lettering.

The only other concern a biker might have is the device suddenly being set off by what appears to be random wiring when stored (at home). It appears that the device will respond to similar frequencies, as it does not contain its own unique code. The orientation of magnet may throw off the speed readings, but this is usually an issue if one does not read the instructions on how to set it up thoroughly and accurately. Otherwise the margin of error should not exceed 2-3%, and the device should give accurate velocity readings with no problems.

Can Be Used Indoor and Out

Diversity is another key feature of the device. It’s meant for outdoor bikes, but it can be used for indoor cycling as well. This is ideal for bikers who want to switch it up or would prefer riding indoors due to inclement weather- this means that they don’t have to take the day off because of Mother Nature.

Overall, the CC-RD200 is a very classy piece of technology made by a company that revolutionized accurate bike performance monitoring. Although it is easy to set up, install, and use, it’s an advanced device that will enable bike riders to carefully monitor their performance with a hands-free experience, coupled with long battery life that a smartphone app cannot offer them. The CC-RD200 earns 3/5 stars.

Bell DASHBOARD 100 12 Function Cyclocomputer review

Bell DASHBOARD 100 12Easton-Bell Sports once again proves to be a leader in sports equipment by presenting cycling enthusiasts with this smart and durable 12 function bike computer, the Bell Dashboard 100. Track important biking statistics while getting in shape. Enhance future training adventures with many great features and benefits without breaking the bank. It seems like a great proposition.

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Simple Components to Get Started

The Bell Cyclocomputer comes with the following components: computer unit, mounting bracket (with sensor), magnet, computer battery (1.5 volt/LR1130), and 4 cable ties. This system is not wireless like some more expensive offerings, instead there is a magnet and sensor relaying data to the computer. Simply attach the provided magnet to the outside of the front wheel. After securing the magnet, place the sensor on the right fork and use 2 cable ties to secure. Lastly, install the mounting bracket and computer on the handlebars while securing with the 2 remaining ties. For optimum results, ensure the main unit is placed directly over the sensor.

Multi-Function Technology for the beginner

Bell has loaded this cycling CPU with a ton of value through 12 important functions. Functions include: your current speed, your average speed, maximum speed, odometer, trip distance, trip timer, 12- and 24- hour clock, kilometers and miles per hour, auto start/stop, scan, and distance. While the feature set may not be the broadest out there, it is more than adequate for basic needs (check latest prices at amazon.com).

Setting the Computer Is Simple

First off, set the wheel value based on the size of your tire. This is a 4 digit code that can be found in the user’s manual. Once the proper value has been found, press and hold the left and right button for 2 seconds. The pre-set value of “2124” should appear with the “4” flashing. Press the right button until the flashing digit is at proper value. Press the left button to move on to the next digit. Repeat the sequence until the correct number has been entered.

Next up, choose between kilometers or miles. Use the right button to choose preferred denomination and then the left button to lock it in. Time of day is always nice to know when cruising. To set time press left button for 3 seconds to get a flashing “24” hour symbol. Press the right button to choose between civilian and military time. Press left to finalize selection. Again, use the right button to select hour, left button to confirm and repeat for minutes, lock in with the left button when complete. Programming is now complete. Test the computer by spinning the wheel, which should activate the speed tendency icon in the top left corner.

Easy Troubleshooting Tips

In the rare occurrence the computer does not appear to function correctly, finding the problem at hand is quite convenient. If there is no data reading it may be a simple case of replacing the battery or making sure the magnet and sensor are properly aligned. A slow data response could be the victim of too much hot or cold weather. Safe operating temperatures will fall between 32-140°F. In most cases the culprit for improper performance will be a battery issue or incorrect sensor alignment.

Compatible with a Variety of Bikes

Whether your preferred beast of choice is road, mountain or stationary bike, the Bell Cyclocomputer has it covered. Road bikes tire sizes can range from 20-28″. This allows for many different body types. Mountain bike tires typically can be accommodated from 24 to 29″, allowing for flexibility in diverse terrain. Most stationary bikes will work, but make sure the cycle you are training on has spokes. Due to the magnet/sensor placement, this is imperative. Without a spoke it will be difficult to mount the magnet.

For under $15 you cannot really go wrong. For value and satisfaction, Bell-Easton Sports delivers every time. It may not be the most extravagant cycling computer out there, but it deserves a solid 3/5 stars.

Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1110 Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1110 Indoor Cycling BikeLike other Sunny Health & Fitness Stationary Bikes, this model features a super heavy flywheel that weighs 44 pounds. The secret to the smooth, 360 degree pedal action that makes an exercise bike special is the aggressive inertia created by this heavy flywheel.

Standard exercise bikes produce a choppy, vertical pump that jars the joints, pounds the tailbone, and makes for a noisy, bouncy ride. It is the reason most often given when people are asked why they never use the exercise bike they bought.  If the bike is uncomfortable, you aren’t going to use it. That means wasted money and no health benefits or cycling enjoyment.

This exercise bike delivers smooth, quiet ride that feels as good as those really expensive models at the local gym. You will feel like you are riding outdoors thanks to the fluid pedal action.

> Click here to see our #1 choices <

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Comfortable and Pain Free Cycling Pleasure

Older riders, and those already suffering from joint and/or lower limb ailments, will find the ride an incredible departure from those old school exercise bikes. The comfort level of this bike allows for longer, more beneficial cycling sessions.

The seat, handlebar, and resistance level are all fully adjustable. Adjustment controls are convenient and easy to use, even while riding the bike.

The handlebars offer almost a dozen safe hand positions that will alter the stress and effect of your workout.

While the bike is easy to transport when you want to move it, its weight and design keeps it steady and perfectly stable while you are cycling. It will not “creep” across the floor.

Pedal cages help keep the feet on the pedals and out of the chain drive mechanism. It is possible to upgrade to clips if desired since the pedals are totally interchangeable with standard clip models (see latest prices at amazon.com).

Built to Last for Years

Durability is obvious from the moment you view the heavy duty crank assembly and solid steel frame.  The unit measures 46.5 x 20.5 x 47.5 inches (L x W x H), and weighs about 106 pounds with a shipping weight of around 118 pounds. For convenience and ease of portability, two transport wheels are built in to the front lower support frame.

This unit will support a rider up to about 265 pounds. It is important to note this before mounting the bike. If you are considerably over the stated weight limit, you are risking a fall and serious injury.

Interchangeable Seat and Pedals

The bike features standard saddle support and 9/16” pedal threads for easy change out to your favorite seat and pedal from your outdoor road or mountain bike. Adaptability is a major strength here and adds to the overall value of this indoor bike.

If aesthetics matter, this bike will look great in your home. In fact, owners agree, this model looks much better than many of the more expensive options.

Like all Sunny Health & Fitness indoor cycles, ease of assembly and set-up is a given. All the necessary tools are provided and will require less than 30 minutes from un-boxing to freewheeling enjoyment! Parts are clearly marked and instructions are simple and straightforward.

Best for Cyclists Under 6 Feet Tall

We have found the only real complaint with these bikes to be that while they are fantastic for cyclists under 6 foot tall, those over 6 foot tall find the fit a tad tight. Taller cyclists report they cannot extend the legs as must as they normally do.

Cyclists love using this indoor bike when riding outside is not feasible. You can pleasantly burn calories, increase cardio and muscle strength, and do it all in the comfort of your home. This model is awarded four stars.

Marcy Upright Mag Cycle Review

Marcy Upright Mag CycleThis is a lightweight unit with a very small footprint. It is definitely for the residential user who has limited space for their exercise equipment.

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Quiet…Usually

This upright exercise bike is equipped with a magnetic resistance system the delivers a fairly smooth and even pedal action.

This system also delivers an amazingly quiet, almost perfectly silent ride. That is, initially. With frequent use, especially by larger riders, the hardware tends to work loose and in the creaks, squeaks, and moans begin.

A little adjusting with the handy-dandy screwdriver will remedy the problem.

Designed for Burning Calories, Not Cycling

It features eight levels of preset resistance so that users of varying levels of health can find the resistance appropriate for them.

If burning calories is your only concern then this could possibly be the unit for you.

For those just looking to burn some calories and get low-level cardiovascular workouts in the large console display is a great tool for tracking the time, speed, calories expended, and distance of the ride.

> Click here to see our #1 choices <

No Cycling Motion Here, Just Vertical Pump

Even with its counterbalanced panels and magnetic resistance system it would be unfair to attempt to compare this bike’s ride without of a similarly-priced indoor bike.

Features and Specs

This unit delivers the expected up-and-down pedal action consistent with standard exercise bikes. If you’re looking for an indoor experience that equates to authentic outdoor road cycling you can skip this unit.

Transport wheels are attached to make rolling this unit from room to room easy. Because it is so light, weighing in at only 43 pounds overall, most anyone can move this unit with little effort.

This unit measures: 31.5 x 48.7 5 x 18 inches (W x H x D).  It’s small enough to fit in a corner and storage closet. Shipping weight is about 45 pounds.

Great for kids and smaller riders, this unit adjusts down quite easily. It is probably not the best choice for riders over 6 feet tall.

Designed for Specific Body Types

Another awkward downside for this product is that the handlebars seem to be further away from the seat then they should be. It’s almost as if this bike was designed for someone with freakishly long arms.

This may cause a problem for people with back problems due to having to stretch forward to reach the handlebars. It certainly is problematic for people with short arms.

If someone were asking for my opinion I would have to say that unless your space is extremely limited, a real stationary bike would probably be a much better alternative.

Saddle Upgrade Advised

The biggest downside for this Marcy product is seat comfort. Users consistently reported that after 30 minute rides experienced moderate to substantial discomfort.

The good news about saddle discomfort is that it is completely replaceable with the standard saddle of your choice. It’s a fairly straightforward and easy.

Some of this may be due to the fact that the standard exercise bike delivers a bounce here, up-and-down pedal action which promotes a vertical bounce in the torso as well. Too much of this bounce will adversely affect the spine and buttocks.

Despite its size it is well constructed and, according to the manual, able to accommodate a writer of up to 300 pounds. Keep in mind that this is a very small bike and if you weigh over 200 pounds mount this unit with extreme caution.

Also, the issues of seat discomfort, handlebar overreach, and vertical pedal action could place undue stress on an overweight person. The pedal action will definitely deliver impact to knees and ankles and the handlebar overreach could result in an unbalanced bike resulting in a fall and serious injury. Again, a sturdy indoor bike designed to accommodate larger users would be the wiser choice.

This unit earns a rating of three stars.

Spinner Fit Indoor Cycle Review

Spinner Fit Indoor Cycle

The Flywheel Is Light as a Fly

Created by a real cyclist, this indoor bike was purposely designed to mimic outdoor cycling. This meant that rather than having a vertical pump or up-and-down pedal action, the bike would need a very smooth and fluid 360° pedal action.

This is accomplished with the heavy weighted flywheel which imparts aggressive inertia into the crank, resulting in peddling it feels like a real road bike.

> Click here to see our #1 choices <

Expensive commercial units mimic real road cycling exceptionally well, but they are also out of reach of the pocketbook of many consumers. This model is priced for the top-end home consumer and includes many additional features that enhance the overall value.

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

A Word about Downsides

The Fit strives to “fit in” to the upper echelon of indoor bikes, however, despite its many positive features the lighter than average 31-pound flywheel does not seem to generate the level of aggressive inertia that is required for that true cycling feeling.

Another downside for this unit is that under increased resistance to ride tends to become shaky and uneven. It felt like I was riding through wet marshlands.

Nice Extras – Great for Beginners

Included are four spinning DVDs, an eight week spinning weight loss program, and a helpful beginner’s guide to effective use of your new indoor bike.

Unlike many bikes in the same category this one comes with a complete one-year warranty on all parts. However, due to the impeccable quality of workmanship and heavy-duty components it is unlikely that you will encounter a parts problem. This bike is designed to withstand thousands of miles of cycling.

The brake system and flywheel assembly receive maximum moisture protection from the double-sided fender. This helps combat the onset of rust in the collection of dirt and grime that might be trapped by moisture.

While this is an indoor bike, perspiration, water bottles spills, and other accidents around the home do happen. The two-piece fender offers protection against all those potential problems.

Big or Tall Cyclist?  No Problem!

Maximum cyclist weight is approximately 250 pounds.

The larger cyclist will be pleased with the extra wide, soft, padded saddle. One of the minor but persistent complaints about this bike is that the seats are typically viewed as too small and too hard. This is especially true amongst non-cyclists who are new to long workouts on an indoor bike.

The saddle and the handlebars are fully adjustable. For cyclist comfort and safety the handlebars feature non-slip grips, five degree angle, and the distinctive patented loop.

Cyclists up to approximately 6’3” will the Fit Spin Bike most accommodating. This is due to the wide variability in both saddle and handlebar adjustments. One common complaint we have found is that cyclist over 6 feet tall cannot get a comfortable leg extension in the pedal action. The Fit is designed to eliminate that problem.

Easy to Assemble and Transport

Designed for ease of assembly and ease-of-use this model is simple and without a lot of electronics. While the unit comes 80% assembled, some assembly will be required.

This unit measures 44 x 18 x 38 inches (L x W x H), weighs 90 pounds, and includes a flywheel that is 31 pounds.

From un-boxing to getting on the bike and enjoying your first training session generally requires about 30 minutes of your time. All required assembly tools are included, and parts are distinctly and clearly marked.

The Fit comes with built in transport rollers that make it easy to move the bike around the home or apartment. So lightweight even a child can move it. We give this unit three stars.

Exerpeutic LX9 Training Cycle with Computer Monitor and Heart Pulse Sensors Review

Exerpeutic LX7 Training CycleThe Exerpeutic LX7 Training Cycle with Computer Monitor and Heart Pulse Sensors is one of the hottest spinning bikes on the market. It seems like this bike, packed with features, should cost much more than it does.

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Safe and Effective Even for Larger Cyclists

First and foremost, this unit will accommodate a cyclist up to 300 pounds. Great for burning calories and melting away fat, the bike also includes high grade monitoring of heart and pulse.

This handy device will help you maintain heartbeat levels in your personal Heart Rate Target Zone for safety and maximum metabolic calorie burn. Monitoring your heart rate will help you to reach your desired workout intensity without risking soreness, burnout, or injury.

Knowing how intense your workout is can prevent damage to your heart or other organs.

Built entirely with cyclist safety in mind, this is the perfect spinning bike for those heavier riders looking to slim down. A top-down emergency brake makes stopping easy and safe.

The LCD monitor tracks mileage, speed, calories burned, and elapsed ride time.

Fully Adjustable Components

Users may ride in the saddle or standing on the pedals for a more versatile and effective workout. Double direction enabled pedaling also helps the cyclist enjoy a more real-world cycling experience as well as a variable impact on the leg muscles.

The versatile handlebar allows cyclists to ride in a low, bent over position or in an upright position. The latter is better for people with lower back problems.

Toe pedal cages help keep the feet, ankles and toes safe by avoiding slippage into the drive mechanism. Made from sturdy aluminum alloy, cyclists need not worry about sustaining toe or foot injuries.

Pedals are interchangeable so any standard bike pedal can be attached, including those with pedal clips for cycling shoes.

The unit features a powerful chain drive mechanism that mimics road cycling. The drive chain is completely enclosed for added safety. The three piece crank assembly is strong enough to withstand the fastest and most furious cycling sessions.

The seat is fully adjustable and features extra soft foam cushion padding.

The resistance level adjustment seems almost infinite. This allows the cyclist to mimic the pull of flat roads, grades, hills, mountains, and more. The versatile handlebar and seat add to the limitless variation that can be brought into play. Workouts on this unit are simply outstanding.

Quiet, Fluid Pedal Action

Equipped with a 40 pound cast iron flywheel with gorgeous chrome rim, this unit will generate sufficiently aggressive inertia to create a fluid 360-degree pedal action. You will not be jarred and bounced around with the up and down action found in traditional exercise bikes.

The fluid pedal action also results in less wear and tear on the joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. This translates into a much more comfortable riding experience and this one conducive to longer sessions with less fatigue.

Easy to Assemble and Transport

Assembly is simple. It should take under 30 minutes using the tools provided. Though everything comes clearly marked, assembly is largely intuitive. Even a child can assemble this bike as it is shipped nearly assembled.

Dimensions are 47 x 20 x 49 inches (L x W x H) and the unit weighs in at about 90 pounds. Shipping weight is about 106 pounds.

This spinning bike features built in transport wheels for easy transport from room to room. Just tip it up on the wheels and roll it to the new location almost effortlessly.

This is one value-packed spinning bike. We gladly award this bike a full five stars!

Sunny Health and Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Sunny Health and Fitness Indoor Cycling BikeLooking for a durable stationary bike that can take whatever punishment you can toss at it, but don’t want to pay the high cost?

This unit features an adjustable seat, a 22-pound flywheel, smooth chain drive, adjustable resistance, and heavy duty steel frame and crank assembly.

Don’t let the low price fool you. The price is the only thing “flimsy” about this rugged exercise bike. This unit looks great, performs quietly, and delivers an exceptional cycling experience.

> Click here to see our top choices <

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Fast Assembly, No Worthless Gadgets

You will want to get on the bike and ride as soon as possible. Sunny Health and Fitness feels your excitement and has made assembly quick and easy. All the tools needed are included. The process if so easy, even a child could figure it out without instructions. You will be on the bike and cycling your way to better health in under thirty minutes flat.

This bike ships with an LCD monitor. This will help you track time, calories burned, speed and distance. Your workouts are far more effective when you track your progress on a regular basis.

Some units offer loads of electronic gadgetry that has more to do with boosting the price than providing an effective cycling session that builds speed, endurance, muscle power, and cardiovascular health benefits (check latest prices at amazon.com).

Highly Effective, Quiet Cardio Workouts

Runners who bought this model for rainy days report that it delivers as much cardio resistance as they get when running outdoors. It is in fact the perfect solution for those days when getting outside is just not possible.

This unit is perfect for apartment dwellers and those living with family members who might be disturbed by sounds from a standard exercise bike. The chain drive and flywheel are whisper quiet. Cycling mats are available, but this unit is so quiet.

Some cyclists report that they watch television or listen to music and cannot hear the bike. Compare that to the typical crunch, grind squeal of a standard exercise bike.

Gentle on the Body Parts

Speaking of old school exercise bikes, one source of noise is the up and down pumping action that is not present with a proper indoor bike. The flywheel creates aggressive inertia which translates into a smooth, 360 degree pedal action. This prevents the rider from bouncing in the seat and reduces the wear and tear on the knees, ankles, tendons, ligaments, and butt.

Riders find the comfortable seat allows them to enjoy even the longest rides without undue stress and strain on their bottoms. The wider-than-average seat accommodates those who are looking to remove a few pounds of excess cellulite from the derriere.

Small but Awesome, Except for Tall Riders

The unit is easily portable weighing in at less than 70 pounds with a shipping weight of about 70 pounds. Maximum rider weight for this unit is about 240 pounds. Dimensions are 30.7 x .4.8 x 48.4 inches.

Despite its smaller size, this unit can withstand hours of use and thousands of miles of indoor cycling adventure. This unit rolls smoothly over solid or carpeted floors, making it a pleasure to move from room to room as needed.

Taller riders (over 6 foot) have reported the bike is not to their liking simply because of the fit. Despite the seat adjustability, this unit does not allow for the extension they are used to. Keep in mind, however, that a proper leg extension on a stationary bike should keep the knee bent between 5 and 20 degrees. A full knee lockout is extremely bad and puts the knee at risk for injury.

We awarded this model four stars!

Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Sunny Health and Fitness Indoor Cycling BikeSunny Health and Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike delivers an indoor cycling experience that this so realistic you will feel the wind in your hair and the bugs in your teeth.

The secret is the 40-pound flywheel that delivers sufficient aggressive inertia to create a fluid, smooth 360° pedal stroke. That smoothness is what differentiates an indoor cycling bike from an indoor exercise bike.

> Click here to see our top choices <

All our reviews are independent of any manufacturers or advertisers and if you buy anything through our posts we may get a small share of the sale.

Easy on the Body

Your hips, knees, and ankles will not miss the more rigid, vertical pumping stroke that the common indoor exercise bike is known for. Rather, you will enjoy less impact and less wear and tear on your joints, ligaments, and tendons. Clearly this makes for a more healthy cycling session.

Additionally, the comfortable seat and versatile handlebars are fully adjustable. This allows the rider a wide range of options that will vary the stress placed on the body and that greatly improve comfort.

Quiet, Safe, Easy to Assemble

The Sunny Health and Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike features a chain drive mechanism. It has quickly become known as one of the most dependable and smoothest operating mechanisms in the world of indoor cycling bikes. This means much less noise when you are cycling.

The in-box pedals include toe clips and foot straps for rider comfort and safety. This model ships with clipless pedals, but you may attach any standard pedal, including clip pedals, if you desire. The crank pedal assembly allows for a quick and painless conversion if you prefer to use the clip elements in your cycling shoes.

Users report excellent durability and few problems. This bike doesn’t require any special maintenance. Ease of assembly and quality of parts makes this a favorite amongst the stationary bike crowd.

While mechanically simple, it is also mechanically sound. The absence of superfluous features made it possible for the manufacturer to put the money into sturdiness (see latest prices at amazon.com).

High Quality for the Price

If you are looking for tons of electronics, this is not the unit for you. This unit was designed to give cyclists a real world bike feel, which is the original concept behind indoor bikes. Riders find this model outlasts the fancier models that often feature plentiful but cheaply-made components.

Just pop a few of your favorite cycling MP3s and you are in for one realist, smooth ride. From High-Intensity Interval Training sessions to exhausting Tabata workouts, this unit has received rave reviews from thousands of satisfied buyers. Users love the fact that they feel they receive a more intensive workout from this unit than any standard exercise bike. Exercise bike sessions translate easily into improved speed and endurance outdoors, all without the undue stress on your joints that a standard exercise bike delivers.

This unit has a substantial solid crank that will stand up to thousands of miles of cycling. The design allows for easy adjustments, convenient storage, and portability.

The unit is extremely user-friendly and thus a charm to assemble. It ships with the bike frame and flywheel assembled. Tools are included for attaching the pedals, handlebar, seat, and lower support brace.

Users find it can be used out of the box and ready for the first ride in less than 30 minutes.

The unit will support a massive 275 pounds, so even extra-large cyclists can enjoy a safe ride. The bike itself weighs in at around 97.2 pounds with an expected shipping weight of about 117 pounds.

Storage is simple as the unit measures a smart 20 x 46.5 x 48.5 inches (W x H x D).

Adjustable, economical, sturdy and effective: You can pay much more and receive much less. It has earned a glowing five star rating!

Minoura LR760 LiveRide Indoor Bicycle Trainer Review

Minoura LR760 LiveRide Indoor Bicycle Trainer ReviewThe Minoura LR760 LiveRide indoor bicycle trainer is made by Minoura who produces high end Japanese cycling accessories. Minoura has over 150 products on Amazon and other stockists include wiggle.com, Evans Cycles and many other chain bicycle stores.

Description

The Minoura LR760 trainer uses magnetic resistance to provide the resistance for the rider and it specializes in using dual neodymium magnets which give up to 13 different resistance levels. This trainer also comes with a remote shifter to allow the rider to adjust the resistance while staying on the bike whereas some other units require you to demount and adjust at the base.

The unit is super quiet and ultra-smooth This trainer is much quieter than its counterparts. It also boasts the top power of 640W at 25 miles per hour which is fast for an indoor trainer with a high power output. It also is adjustable to allow the user to change the bikes that they are training. Also it has the ability to transfer data vie Bluetooth to compatible devices to track your training.

The main product features are:

  • Remote shifter for increasing magnetic resistance
  • Quiet and smooth performance
  • 640w at 25mph
  • 6lb flywheel for sturdy performance

The LR760 trainer is at the high end of the indoor bike trainer market price wise which means this trainer is definitely suited to the serious rider who will use it almost on a daily basis.

Likes and Dislikes

There is one defining factor that makes this indoor trainer stand out for me which is the trainer’s ability to transmit the information from your training to your device using ANT or Bluetooth. This is a great tool for an advanced rider to track their power output over a long distance, especially when training for a race or competition. Secondly this unit looks great with the black white and red looking very professional and top of the range.

The remote shifter is a great advantage to have on any trainer but having 13 different settings gives a huge range to the level of resistance allowing the user to determine the level of their training. Also the ability to withstand a power output of 640w at a high speed allows a rider to actually use the trainer for performance gains rather than as a hobby.

The main dislike about the Minoura LR760 is the price range which may put off many buyers, mainly because an indoor trainer is usually just for rainy days or bad weather and for this price you would expect to be using it on a more long term basis. But you do get what you pay for.

Another negative is the width of the unit is quite narrow which makes it look and feel slightly like it may tip over which could be a problem for larger riders.

I give this indoor bike trainer a 4 out of 5 stars.
